UPDATE FROM THE CHAIR
The Almaguin Highlands Arts Council has received numerous requests for information regarding local photographers, jewellery makers, musicians and visual artists. the council is responding to this need for a central database which lists/promotes artists in all fields. From Callander to Novar and Port Loring to Algonquin Park, there are many talented artists that the wider community does not know about. The AHAC would encourage every artists in the Almaguin Highlands region to become a member o that this information is readily available. This promotion is extremely important for the artists, the residents of the Almaguin Highlands and the seasonal visitors to this area. The Arts Council also sees the necessity of a central location to advertise arts events occurring in the Almaguin Highlands.
We encourage each and every artist to become a member of the AHAC. Join us by sending your information and membership form through our website to info@ahartscouncil.org
In addition, the AHAC plans to create a new print Arts Directory in 2012. If you would like to be included in this exciting, colourful publication, contact Doreen Wood at 705-386-0200.
Sincerely,
Hazel Hornibrook, Chairperson
